Daily military life in Iraq was always interesting. You never knew what the day would bring. We arrived in Iraq in early March, 2004. The first month was relatively quiet. Then, starting Easter Sunday, the insurgents got very busy all over the country. Scenes such as this were almost a daily event. Somebody nearby got attacked, most likely from yet another roadside Improvised Explosive Device, known as IED's. This is not a safe place to be.
