This gallery contains images from my deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am an Officer in the Pennsylvania Air National, serving proudly with the 193 Special Operations Wing in Harrisburg, PA. From March through June of 2004 the Civil Engineer Squadron from the 193rd deployed 35 personnel to Iraq. Together with other Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty Air Force personnel we formed the 447th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Obviously publication of images from the area is controlled, and any Military related image on this site has been cleared for release by the Public Affairs Office at US Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Needless to say this was a very interesting several months. Opinions on this war vary greatly, both in the United States and around the World. I won't engage in debate here. From the point of view of the troops on the ground, I can tell you we all were proud to serve. We wanted to do our job and return home to our families. Our sincere hope is that the Iraqi people can find peace and that the threat to ALL nations from terrorism can be eliminated. We each felt like we were doing our little part as part of the overall effort, and that by serving now we can hopefully make the world safer for all people.

| My deepest appreciation goes out to the families of my Brothers and Sisters in Arms that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Your loss cannot possibly be understood by those who have not made such a sacrifice. I pray you find peace and understand the sacrifice you have made is not in vain. You know this for sure, as you are suffering the pain of great loss, but others sometimes need to be reminded: |
